BHAWANI SEEDS AND BIO-TECH is owned by an innovative farmer, Shri Sudhir Agrawal, established in the year 2000. Bhawani Seeds and Bio-Tech is named after father of Shri Sudhir Agrawal, Late Shri Bhawani Shanker. Bhawani Shanker Ji was a Zamindar of british period. He established the first ever sulphitaion plant at village Bhureka, Uttar Pradesh in 1949. Sugarcane was our main crop at that point of time. Though we also produce Wheat, Mustard, Cotton, Mango, and other vegetables of home use of our extended family. |

In 1996 due to government policies and other factors our paternal business of Sugar processing and sulphitation was closed with heavy losses. Further we have to sustain on farming for our livelihood. |

It was difficult for us to progress with normal agriculture as a way of life, there after, we interact with scientist of GBPUAT, CSA, IARI, and other institutes of agriculture importance. From this we learned that we have to do value addition in our farm produce and linked it up to final consumer (Farm to fork). |

As a farmer, we faced the shortage of good quality seeds in the market, while discussing this problem with scientists, we got an idea of value addition of our crop into seed. Meanwhile we have undergone trainings for seed production, processing in IARI (PUSA), New Delhi. From there we got breeder seeds for latest varieties of Wheat, Paddy, Mustard, Barley etc, with which we produced foundation seeds, which we then distributed to our fellow farmers of nearby villages for further multiplication. As a result, they got better yield and enhanced income, and we got success in our initial phase. We have installed seed processing plant in our village for cleaning, grading and storage of seeds in scientific manner, Seeds are certified by Uttar Pradesh State Seed Certification Agency. |
